UNC SURGICAL TOWER – SKANSKA USA BUILDING INC.

QC Commercial completed painting services for the ground-up construction of the new UNC Surgical Tower in 2024. As of 2026, the seven-story, $375 million medical center remains the largest hospital building within the UNC Health system.

Our scope included painting the entire interior of the hospital as well as two newly constructed pedestrian bridges connecting the new tower to the existing multi-level parking garages. At peak construction, QC had 48 painters mobilized on site, with an average crew size of ten highly skilled craftsmen throughout the duration of the project.

The successful completion of this project demonstrates QC Commercial’s ability to self-perform large, technically demanding healthcare projects while meeting the stringent quality, safety, and scheduling requirements of one of the nation’s leading healthcare systems and one of the country’s premier general contractors.
